A Head of Supply Chain is a senior executive responsible for managing and optimizing a company's end-to-end supply chain operations. This role is vital for ensuring that products and materials flow efficiently and cost-effectively from suppliers to customers. A successful Head of Supply Chain combines strategic planning with practical operational leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic leadership: Develop and implement a global supply chain strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives and financial targets.
• Process optimization: Oversee supply chain processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
• Procurement and sourcing: Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities, negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery.
• Inventory management: Implement and manage inventory control systems to maintain optimal stock levels, balance customer demand with carrying costs, and improve inventory turnover.
• Logistics and distribution: Direct logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and third-party logistics (3PL) provider management, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
