Our county borough is a place of contrasts and connections from the stunning valleys in the north to the beautiful coastline in the south. With the M4 corridor running through the heart of the area and excellent rail links to Cardiff, London, and Swansea, we are a well-connected community with ambition at its core.

This is a newly created role to strengthen our leadership team, to lead a large multi-function service, and to turn our vision into reality. We are seeking a credible and visionary leader to take on the critical role of Head of Strategy, Early Years and Youth.

This is a rare chance to shape the future of early years provision, youth services including youth justice, and key support services such as school transport and catering.

In addition, you will play a pivotal role in delivering our £100m+ School Modernisation Capital Investment Programme.

You will also lead on corporate health and safety and safeguarding arrangements within the Education, Early Years and Young People Directorate.

Working alongside the Corporate Director and Head of Learning, you will help drive transformational change, ensuring our services are responsive, innovative, and focused on improving outcomes for children and young people.

With significant experience in leading services for children and young people, managing complex budgets, and delivering organisational change, you will bring both strategic vision and operational excellence to this high-profile, new and exciting role.
