Job Role: Head of Projects

Area: Dartford

Salary: £75k - £85k

My client is looking for a Head of Projects to join their team based in Dartford. You will be the driving force in leading and motivating the Projects team, supporting in identifying new opportunities, tendering and delivering projects to give clients satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership, guidance, advice, coaching and direct support to members of the team.
  • Department financial budget is understood, and a plan is developed to achieve targets.
  • Ensuring a customer focus environment operates and that effective relationships are maintained with client contacts.
  • Supporting the sales pipeline by developing client relationships and assisting in business development.
  • Provide financial review and forecast to the Managing Director / Finance Manager.
  • Responsible for completion of appraisals, performance reviews, training and development of the team.
  • Responsible for the management and recording of direct reporting staff holiday and sickness events.
  • Ensure projects are staffed by fully competent teams, taking direct responsibility for the appointment of all roles, ensuring post holders are fully competent.
  • Manage delivery of projects within an agreed budget and timeframe to maximise profit and client satisfaction.
  • To identify and manage all regulation and commercials risk associated with a project.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to both clients and Company QSHE policy and procedures.
  • Ensure sub-contractors are closely managed and that all terms and conditions are back-to-back whenever possible.
  • All forms of correspondence are timely, accurate, containing the correct level of detail and are professional in appearance.
  • Competent to select equipment for the correct application
  • Attendance at internal / external seminars & courses to keep technical knowledge relevant and up to date
  • Uses technical knowledge to offer best value / solution to client.
  • Provides and applies sustainable solutions to achieve client targets.
Qualifications
  • Experience of financial and commercial management within operational management.
  • Experience of resolution in contractual differences.
  • A good general education is essential, with a qualification in mechanical, electrical or air conditioning engineering.
  • 5 years in similar role, delivering Mechanical & Electrical projects from £100K to £1.5m within client premises.
  • Experienced in managing specialist subcontractors.
  • Experienced in motivating a team, with a drive to exceed targets.
  • Able to demonstrate experience in identifying new works, specify, tendering and or negotiating with clients.
