Job description
THE ROLE

We are seeking a strategic and delivery-focused Head of Product & PMO to oversee a portfolio of products within the Technology & Digital Services (TDS) function. This role will lead multiple product managers and cross-functional squads across data, AI, design, and engineering, ensuring alignment with business priorities and driving outcomes that support NextEnergy Group’s ambition to be data-driven, technology-led, and AI-informed.

You will be responsible for setting product vision across domains, managing delivery roadmaps, and ensuring governance and stakeholder alignment. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong product delivery expertise, people management skills, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Leadership & Strategy
  • Define and communicate product vision and strategy across multiple domains (e.g., Finance, Asset Management, Document Management).
  • Own and maintain a portfolio-level roadmap balancing business outcomes, technical feasibility, and resource capacity.
  • Guide “build vs buy” decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and strategic goals.
Team Management
  • Line manage and mentor a team of Product Managers, Scrum Managers and PMO fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support career development and performance management of direct reports.
  • Ensure consistent product practices across teams, including backlog management, agile ceremonies, and delivery tracking.
Delivery Oversight
  • Translate strategic goals into actionable delivery plans across multiple squads.
  • Coordinate with PMO and other delivery leads to manage dependencies, risks, and timelines.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery and business enablement at product launch.
Governance & Risk Management
  • Partner with compliance, security, and data governance teams to ensure responsible product development.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks across the product lifecycle, ensuring audit readiness and policy adherence.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Align senior stakeholders across business units on product priorities, trade-offs, and delivery progress.
  • Lead steering forums and executive updates with clear, decision-ready materials.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on product strategy and delivery.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Significant experience in product management, including leading multiple product teams.
  • Experience working with cross-functional technical delivery teams.
  • Prior experience managing vendors and third-party delivery partners.
  • Fluency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Strong track record of delivering complex products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Right to work in the UK.
