Overview

Are you a General Manager or RGM looking for a new challenge?

Would you like to responsible for creating and implementing a Logistics strategy for a newly created flagship DC in the West Midlands?

My client is a specialist distriutor based in the West Midlands who are targeting serious growth due to recent acquisitions.

They're looking for a Head of Logistics to help create, implement and develop a long term strategy focused on growth and modernisation.

Process improvement
  • Ensure all aspects of the Warehousing and Distribution function work efficiently in order to deliver company strategic objectives.
  • Work with senior management team to improve processes and systems across the business to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the company.
  • Monitor and review Logistics department systems and procedures in order to promote good working practices and process within the department.
  • Understand latest trends in systems, technology and working practices with a view to implementing when appropriate and relevant.
Continual improvement
  • In line with strategic objectives to set and measure Logistics department set of KPI's.
  • The aim to be recognised as market leaders for customer service and delivery performance.
Team Development
  • Provide the Logistics team with clear and achievable goals and objectives in order to ensure the team is managed and motivated at all times.
  • Mentor Management/Supervisory team members to develop them as individuals and strengthen the team as a whole.
  • Ensure information flow to the team is relevant and regular to give everyone full understanding of needs of the business.
Automation and Innovation
  • Implement advanced automation technologies to enhance warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to optimise robotic systems and leverage data analytics for decision-making.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into the facility.
Supplier Management
  • Establish strong working relationships with existing and new suppliers in order to ensure high levels of service, quality and value for money.
  • Source new suppliers as and when required by the needs of the business, negotiating prices and conditions to benefit in order maintain the company's competitive edge.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in senior management roles with a strong focus on warehouse and logistics operations, automation, and Lean Six Sigma.
  • Previous experience at GM, RGM or HOL level
  • Expertise in automated warehouse systems, automated facilities and design.
  • Strong financial acumen, budget management, and cost optimisation skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication abilities.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and the ability to drive change and innovation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Wihin commutable distance to the West Midlands.

£90,000 - £100,000 + benefits.
