We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to provide strategic leadership and expert guidance on health and safety matters across the University. Utilising recognised health and safety quality frameworks, the Head of Health and Safety will monitor and coordinate the management of an effective and compliant health and safety function within the University. This role, based within Legal & Compliance Services, is focused on ensuring the University\'s compliance with health and safety legislation while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role will be required to review and develop appropriate strategies, policies, procedures and staff training and development, ensuring a progressive health and safety culture is promoted and maintained.
The post requires that you will have excellent relationship building and communication skills to engage positively with staff, students, contractors and visitors. You will also be able to communicate to colleagues clearly. Attention to detail and accurate, meticulous record keeping is important.
The University offers a generous annual leave package and attractive pension schemes. The Team operates a hybrid working pattern with some home working encouraged as well as attendance at an office base within the site at Exton Park, Chester.
