Location: Huntingdon / Northampton / Shefford (with travel to other offices)

Salary/Benefits: Range depending on experience £75,747.50 - £87,022.50. Benefits include 22% pension, 25 days holiday (options to purchase more), 2 days office attendance and discounts for retail etc.

The Opportunity: Our client, a progressive legal practice, is seeking an exceptional Head of Finance to lead their finance function and become a key member of the Leadership Team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a qualified accountant with legal sector experience to make a real impact.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Chief Executive, take strategic and operational responsibility for all financial matters including management accounting, statutory reporting, legal cashiering, and credit control.
  • Hold the regulatory roles of COFA and MLRO.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Produce monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts.
  • Ensure full compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and SRA requirements.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Board on budgets and financial strategy.
  • Drive compliance with Lexcel standards and quality management.
  • Support business development initiatives and firm-wide projects.
About You

Essential:

  • Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Significant experience within legal practice finance.
  • Expert knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR).
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong financial reporting and analytical capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in multi-site legal practices or ABS environments.
  • Legal case management system knowledge.
  • Leadership qualification.
