Head of Design - Façade & Aluminium Systems

My client are a family-owned façade business with a strong pipeline, modern facilities, and a clear focus on the future. They’re investing heavily in people, capability and compliance — and now looking for a Head of Design to lead that journey. This is a real leadership role, not just managing drawings. You’ll take full ownership of the design function — raising standards, improving process, and building a strong, motivated team around you.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage the design team day to day
• Set design standards and processes that fit the new regulatory environment
• Review and approve drawings and technical details
• Collaborate closely with PMs, commercial, fabrication and site teams
• Support bids and tenders with strong technical input
• Engage directly with architects and main contractors
• Mentor junior designers and build the department

What they’re Looking For

• Proven façade / aluminium systems background (windows, doors, curtain walling)
• Strong AutoCAD skills (Revit/BIM a plus)
• Excellent grasp of CWCT standards, regulations and compliance
• Confident communicator, detail-focused, organised
• Someone who takes accountability, challenges the norm, and drives improvement
