Job description
Overview

Are you passionate about leading a growing casework function to regulate charitable fundraising and protect the public?

About the Organisation

Prospectus is delighted to be partnering with our client for the recruitment of a Head of Casework on a full-time, permanent basis. The organisation is an independent, non-statutory body that regulates fundraising across the charitable sector in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The organisation owns the Code of Fundraising Practice which also applies in Scotland where separate arrangements apply for charitable fundraising.

Diversity and Inclusion

The organisation is committed to diversity, equality and inclusion. We want our workforce to be truly representative of the society we are here to support and protect, so that we’re able to regulate effectively. We also want each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. We do this by operating a fair and inclusive recruitment process, which aims to reach a diverse pool of candidates. This is also supported by a range of policies that encourage a flexible and supportive working environment.

Reporting Structure

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Casework is a member of the Senior Management Team and will report directly to the Board and the Complaints and Investigations Committee regarding the casework function.

Responsibilities

The Head of Casework will have responsibility for the casework function at the organisation overseeing formal investigations and compliance cases opened as a result of concerns identified about charitable fundraising in line with the standards in the Code of Fundraising Practice.

You will oversee the further development of systems and processes and ensure the team remain engaged, accountable and high performing.

The Head of Casework will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships and working closely with other Regulators and key stakeholders, as well as representing the organisation at external events.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you will be an experienced senior leader with substantial experience of managing and leading teams in a casework or similar operational environment. As a voluntary regulator, the organisation often takes complex decisions about whether cases fall within its remit and therefore you must be comfortable making decisions without legal precedent.

Application Process

Please initially apply by providing a Word Document copy of your CV. Cover letters are not required at this stage. A full job description will be provided to candidates shortlisted by Prospectus.
