Overview

Head Elf (Grotto Manager) – Part Time, various hours per week including weekends. Temporary contract. British Garden Centres are looking for a Head Elf to join our magical Christmas experience in our grotto.

The excitement of Christmas is magical for all children. It’s a wonderful and captivating time of year and at the heart of the experience is Santa and his trusted Elves. We are inviting those who love the spirit of Christmas to wear the special costume and deliver the magic of Christmas to our customers of all ages. As Head Elf you will be responsible for creating memorable visits by preparing and helping children to meet Santa within one of our magical grottos and ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the grotto. You will work as the Grotto manager and motivate a team of elves to create a magical experience for every child.

From the moment you step into the role you will have fun spreading the magic of Christmas and engaging with children about their Christmas lists, while building confidence to spread happiness and fulfil the imaginations of children of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and help children meet Santa within the grotto to create memorable visits.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the grotto.
• Work as the Grotto manager and lead a team of elves.
• Motivate and manage a team of 35+ elves, Santa and Mrs Claus, to deliver a magical experience for every child.

Elf Requirements

• Provide a warm welcome and a friendly face to all grotto visitors.
• Superb customer service skills.

• Be responsible for handling money.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Check bookings for Santa.
• Work as part of a team to keep the Christmas magic alive.
