Job summary

A leading civil engineering company in Scotland is seeking a Group Training Manager to lead their training and workforce development strategy. This senior role involves oversight of regional teams, managing the training budget, ensuring compliance, and supporting leadership initiatives. Group Training Manager – Construction

Location: Glasgow (with some travel to regional offices and sites across Scotland)

Hours: Full-time, permanent

As part of continued growth within the renewables and infrastructure sectors, our client, a leading Scottish civil engineering business, is seeking a Group Training Manager to lead and oversee the company's training and workforce development strategy across all regions.

Reporting to the company directors, you'll have strategic oversight of the regional Training Manager and will ensure a consistent, compliant, and forward-thinking approach to learning and development across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement the group-wide training and competency strategy.
  • Oversee regional training teams and ensure alignment with group standards.
  • Manage the group training budget and build strong partnerships with providers.
  • Oversee compliance, certification, and audit readiness.
  • Support leadership, apprenticeship, and professional development initiatives.
  • Attend regional offices and project sites to provide guidance and ensure training quality.
About You
  • Proven experience in a senior training or L&D leadership role within civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of CITB, CSCS, and construction compliance frameworks.
  • Strategic mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel across Scotland to meet with teams, clients, and partners.
