Financial Reporting Team Lead – Aberdeen

We are delighted to be working with our client, a globally recognisable business, as they look to add a Financial Reporting Team Lead to their business in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong leadership skills to join a professional and motivated finance team that delivers reporting and compliance across an international business. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality reporting and statutory accounts, while driving process improvements and supporting regional finance teams across the globe.

  • Lead and support a team of finance professionals, providing coaching, guidance, and development opportunities.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end reporting, statutory accounts preparation, and internal control processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders including Tax, Legal, and Group Reporting.
  • Review team outputs, prioritise workloads, and ensure high standards and deadlines are met.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Provide mentoring and professional development, including sign-off for accountancy training programmes.
Qualifications
  • A qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, or equivalent) with proven supervisory experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS 101.
  • Experience of statutory accounts preparation within a large or international organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive and hands‑on approach.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems (desirable), and BFC or equivalent consolidation tools.
