A leading airport operator in Manchester is looking for a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills to prepare financial statements under IFRS. The successful candidate will support financial reporting and training, manage tight deadlines, and build stakeholder relationships. To prepare the Groups interim and full year consolidated financial statements under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and individual company financial statements under FRS 102, to a high standard.
Provide technical accounting and financial reporting expertise to colleagues across MAG and support the provision of relevant technical training and development to MAG’s finance community and assist in the management of the year end and half year processes, including the external audit process.
You’ll need to be an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with post qualification experience in a busy finance team and demonstrate strong technical accounting skills in IFRS or the new UK GAAP (FRS 102).
You will need you to have examples of where you have delivered projects to tight timeframes and built relationships with a range of stakeholders to provide an excellent service across multiple business units.
Any knowledge of SAP systems and accounting knowledge in non‑current assets (IAS 16, IAS 38, IFRS 16) is desirable.
