Job description
Essential Role Requirements
  • Conduct risk assessment briefings and toolbox talks to maintain site safety standards.
  • Ensure operatives work efficiently and safely at all times.
  • Oversee the availability and suitability of plant and materials to support programme delivery.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Implement and monitor safe working methods particularly when excavating around buried services.
  • Engage confidently with operatives to drive quality health & safety and production standards.
  • Interpret programmes provided by Site Management and translate them into practical working methods to achieve deadlines.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge across all aspects of groundworks including ground beams drainage sub-structure concrete external works roads housing slabs and cut-and-fill earthworks.
  • Maintain commercial awareness of site activities to support cost-effective project delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure quality and timely performance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients adopting a proactive and professional approach.
  • Accurately read and interpret technical drawings to inform construction details.
General Expectations
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with other trades and operatives to support timely programme delivery.
  • Hold the right to work in the UK.
  • Successfully complete the IT induction and training programme within the first 13 months of employment.
