Are you a recent English graduate looking to take your first step into education?

Do you have a passion for language and literature, and a desire to inspire young people through learning?

Our client is an ambitious and welcoming secondary school with a passionate and supportive English Department.

They are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their team and support the delivery of high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic graduate to gain invaluable classroom experience. After one or two successful terms as a TA, there is potential to progress onto a paid teacher training programme within the school.

The Role
  • Support teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging English lessons
  • Work with students individually or in small groups to develop literacy and analytical skills
  • Help prepare resources and support students with reading and writing tasks
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment
  • Contribute to wider school life, including clubs, enrichment activities, and trips
The Ideal Candidate
  • A recent English graduate (Literature, Language, Creative Writing, or a related discipline)
  • Passionate about education and eager to inspire young learners
  • Confident, proactive, and organised with excellent communication skills
  • A team player with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
