Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN School

Location: Manchester (M18)

Pay: £95 per day, depending on experience

Start Date: 05/01/2026

Hours: 9:30am–3:30pm

Are you a recent graduate looking to pursue a career in education? We are currently working with a large SEN school to recruit graduate teaching assistants to support their team.

The school is an OFSTED rated "Outstanding" school that supports pupils aged between 11‑19 with complex needs.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the class teachers and other staff members to monitor progress and development.
  • Play a key part in creating a calm, positive classroom environment where learners can thrive.
  • Prepare fun and engaging learning resources.
What We Are Looking For
  • Recent degree, preferably in Psychology, Criminology or Education.
  • A creative, empathetic and adaptable approach to engaging pupils with varying needs.
  • Interest in SEN and SEMH (experience is a bonus, but not a must).
  • Up‑to‑date safeguarding training within the last year (desired; training can be provided).
To Be Eligible for This Role through Prospero Teaching You Must
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child‑barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child‑related references that cover at least the last two years.
