Job summary

A multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in the UK is seeking a Graduate Structural Engineer to manage small to medium-scale projects. The successful candidate will design structural materials, work with AutoCAD and share expertise with the project team. A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is essential, along with strong communication skills and experience in the construction industry.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience within the construction industry ideally with experience designing foundations.
  • Proven technical ability in the design of core structural materials including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Experience with Eurocodes and structural design software.

We are currently looking for a Graduate Structural Engineer for our client, a multi-disciplinary engineering practice with a passion for excellence, innovation, and environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will be responsible, for the internal day-to-day management of small to medium-scale projects and the engineering solutions for numerous schemes for clients across a range of sectors.

The Graduate Structural Engineer will:

  • Operate as part of a wider project team and confidently represent the company to clients and outside organisations.
  • Work independently and coordinate effectively with team members, ensuring high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Demonstrate technical ability in designing core structural materials: steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Produce high-quality reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Eurocodes, and design software packages (TEKLA, TEDDS) proficiently.

The Graduate Structural Engineer will have:
  • Degree in Civil/structural engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience within the construction industry ideally w/ experience designing foundations.
  • Proven technical ability in the design of core structural materials including steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Experience with Eurocodes and structural design software, such as AutoCAD, TEKLA, and TEDDS.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative consultancy environment.
