Job Description

You will be involved in some of the UK’s most innovative and intricate projects. Each day as a graduate, you will be part of our buildings department, working alongside a close knit team of Public Health Engineers, specialising in the design of Water, drainage and fire suppression systems, for a wide range of buildings – from world leading hospitals, skyscrapers to Antarctic Research Outposts across the globe. Based out of the London office, you will be expected to travel UK-wide to fulfil the needs of the projects you will be working on. You will be working with a team spanning multiple disciplines including Structures, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Facades and Acoustics. You will be part of project teams that may be as large as 30 people or as intimate as 2 or 3.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Contribute to the overall design and delivery of buildings, including Public Health systems
  • Identify opportunities for digital automation and/or optimisation of building systems, interfaces and /or their components parts
  • Develop digital tools and approaches to leverage these opportunities
  • Translate complex engineering concepts and solutions into easy to understand presentations, reports, sketches, drawings and infographics that communicate their essence and demonstrate their value to our clients and key stakeholders
  • Learn to identify potential health & safety, design, sustainability and commercial risks on our projects and contribute towards mitigating them
  • Monitor the implementation of design throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial concepts to visits on site

You will become a part of the Buildings department, which includes Building Services, Structures, Civil, Facades, Acoustics and many more specialist teams. Your role will allow you to collaborate with all disciplines, providing growth and knowledge to enhance your engineering competence.

Qualifications
  • A keen interest in the built environment and its effect on society
  • A-Levels in Maths or Physics and ideally one subject in the Arts/Humanities stream
  • A BScEng, BEng, MEng or MSc level degree in a relevant engineering discipline achieved with minimum 2:1 and above
  • Demonstrable aptitude to learn computer programming languages and complex data manipulation and processing (e.g. Dynamo, Grasshopper, Python, C++, C#, PowerBI, SQL, .net, etc.)
  • Ability to summarise and present complex engineering concepts via different channels (e.g. report writing, Power Point, hand sketching)
  • An understanding of Digital Automation and Optimisation
