The Role

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with day-to-day activities, fine and gross motor skills, and sensory integration
  • Assist in implementing individual therapy plans under the guidance of qualified occupational therapists
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils develop independence, coordination, and functional skills
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to embed therapy strategies into the classroom and daily routines
  • Monitor progress, provide feedback, and contribute to reports on student development
  • Help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where students can thrive
Person Specification
  • Recent graduate in Occupational Therapy or a closely related discipline
  • Interest in SEN education, therapy, and child development
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to students’ individual needs
  • Previous experience in SEN, therapy, or youth support is desirable but not essential
  • Right to work in the UK
