An established engineering company in South Yorkshire seeks a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join its team. Responsibilities include creating 3D CAD models, assisting in project documentation, and managing BOMs within the MRP system. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Design degree (2:1 or above) and basic CAD knowledge. The role offers a salary of £25,000 to £30,000 and support/training from day one.

Qualifications

  • Recently qualified Design Engineer or CAD Operative.
  • Ideally a degree holder with a minimum 2:1.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD software is required.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D CAD models from client designs.

Overview

A great opportunity for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering business that specializes in Quality Pipework and Structural Fabrications. Our client has already engaged in the delivery of a wide range of high–profile projects and has recently been awarded another major contract, thus looking to add a Junior Design/Draughtsperson on a permanent basis to their highly experienced engineering design team, which consists of 3 people. Our client has been in South Yorkshire for over 30 years, working on several high–value projects in Utilities, Waste to Energy, and Power Generation. They have an impressive list of accreditations/approvals, ranging from ISO, ECITB, and Achilles Verified, and they have worked on numerous national projects as well as recently international projects.

Responsibilities
  1. Creating 3D CAD models as per clients' designs and calculations.
  2. Supporting and assisting in producing contract documentation and working closely with the engineering team to deliver large projects.
  3. 3D Laser scanning.
  4. Support in developing quality and work procedures for the workshop and factory.
  5. Managing BOMs within the MRP system.
  6. Some general engineering administrative duties.
Qualifications
  1. Recently qualified Design Engineer/CAD Operative.
  2. Ideally Degree Holders in Mechanical Design – 2:1 or above.
  3. Basic Knowledge of 3D CAD software.
  4. Strong numerical and methodical problem–solving skills.
Benefits
  1. Salary dependent upon experience GBP25,000 – GBP30,000 per annum.
  2. Permanent position – 3 month probation.
