Overview

Graduate Design Engineer – Wigston – GBP28,000 - GBP30,000 P/a + 1.5 overtime + bonus

Responsibilities

• Generation of 3D CAD models
• Data management using PDM system
• Preparation of 3D models & 2D drawings for in-house machining and external fabrication
• Preparing models for review in Virtual Reality
• Creating 3D printed proof of concepts and display models
• Reverse engineering of legacy components
• Presentation of concepts to different levels within the business
• Liaise with in-house machinists, fabricators and external suppliers in support of CAD designs
• Creating and updating records in the company quality management system

Qualifications

• Have a minimum 2:1 in an engineering related degree
• Be amenable to a very varied multi-disciplinary role
• Have experience creating 3D models using CAD software – Autodesk Inventor & Vault beneficial but not essential
• Have a working knowledge of mechanical design, machining and fabrication concepts
• Have experience using Microsoft Office suite
• Be willing to learn & adapt as a project evolves
• Have an analytical mind with acute attention to detail
• Have good problem-solving abilities
• Be a strong team player
