Overview
The client is an established and successful manufacturer of test machinery and equipment. They are seeking to recruit a Graduate / Junior Applications Engineer for their operations in North Worcester.
Salary - £25,000 to £36,000 per annum.
Hours: Monday to Friday on Days. Benefits include generous holiday entitlement, pension, staff social events, free onsite parking.
Responsibilities
- Development and modifying C# control software
- Supporting global clients and SCP engineers with new and existing systems remotely for fault finding and integrating new functionality. Some site work will be required.
- Developing and supporting core product software and giving input into hardware design.
- Interfacing to 3rd party equipment for integration within the CADET environment, using C# language.
- Developing automation sequences and tests using standard CADET tools.
- Analysing engineering systems to advise the best methods of automation.
- Analysing post test diagnostics logs to advise fault rectifications (software, electrical and mechanical) within complex engineering systems.
- Work with design engineers to advise on requirements for new systems.
- Liaise with commissioning engineers and project / site managers to achieve sign off from customers.
- Source code management via SourceTree, BitBucket and Jira.
- Document solutions and producing software manuals.
Experience and qualifications
- Degree qualified in mechatronics or automation or Electrical Engineering
- Ability to pick up new concepts and hold good fault finding abilities, both electrically and mechanically.
- An understanding of C# and visual studio would be advantageous but not essential.
- Good understanding of basic engineering principles.
- A valid driving licence and able to work away including some overnight trips and occasional overseas visits.
- Good team player and a "can do" attitude.
Location
The company are based in Worcester so is commutable from Kidderminster, Droitwich, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Evesham, Tewkesbury.
