A healthcare provider in the UK seeks zero hour receptionists to assist with holiday and sickness cover. Duties include welcoming patients, managing appointments, and performing administrative tasks. This role offers a competitive hourly rate between £12.47 and £12.71, depending on experience, and is crucial for maintaining high-quality patient service.
We are recruiting for zero hour receptionists to join our team across two sites at Winterton and Burton UponStatherto support our current reception team with holiday and sickness cover.
Flexibility, good team working skills, coupled with theability to work efficiently unsupervised is essential, along with the desire todeliver an outstanding patient experience.
Welcome patients as they arrive at the practice while covering the front desk and also dealing with patient enquiries by telephone.
Make NEW and FOLLOW UP appointments for patients on the medical computer system via telephone, face to face and Klinik (online service)
Implement Care Navigation while assessing patient appointment needs and direct to the most appropriate clinician / service.
Deal with patient enquiries and raise queries with the clinical team and feedback outcomes to the patients.

Correspondence Management Administration: Deal with incoming mail and pathology received by the practice. Read through correspondence to pick out any follow up actions and direct to appropriate member of the clinical team for action. Deal with any actions from correspondence that can be completed by the administrative team. Read code information onto patient records. Deal with follow up actions as directed by the clinical team, such as contacting patients to book for follow up tests or feedback information as directed. Work to practice protocols in management of incoming mail/pathology.
We are a rural GMS training practice caring for 10,000 patients, half dispensing, a provider of surgical services and a high QOF achiever. Staff including: GPs / Administrators/ Secretaries/ Receptionists/ Dispensers/ Pharmacists/ Nurse Practitioners/ Surgical Unit Staff/ Practice Nurses/ HCA's/ Cleaners and Apprentices.

The post holder will provide a high quality and responsive reception service to all patients ensuring that the reception runs efficiently and in accordance with the practice requirements. To provide the FIRST point of contact for patients on arrival in the practice. To provide assistance and help to patients in a courteous and professional manner. To perform administrative duties as necessary, for the efficient running of reception.
To make appointments and book patients in when they arrive for an appointment in accordance with the practice appointment system and to provide a helpful and friendly service to patients ensuring also that the reception area is tidy and welcoming
To answer telephones promptly ensuring that all in-coming lines are covered at all times
To comply with the practice procedure for the registration of new patients, temporary patients, private patients, and those seen as emergency or immediately necessary
Advise patients of any actions or advice requested by Clinicians
Signposting patients appropriately to most appropriate services
Undertake a variety of administrative duties including, scanning, photocopying and filing
Tidying of Reception area
Dealing with Home visit requests
Accurately maintain patients' basic demographic data on computer
Take, record and action telephone messages, promptly, accurately, and appropriately and deal with any follow up actions
Understand and adhere to all practice procedures and protocols relevant to your role
Change doctors names in waiting room and on doors if necessary
Check the Duty Dr and or GP Registrar aware of all planned and approved visits
Print FP10 and labels as required for repeat medication requests
Understanding practice policies and protocols
Work with dispensary, admin and secretarial colleagues to ensure that enquiries and requests are handled as efficiently as possible
Job Title: Correspondence/Pathology Administration Clerk
To ensure that all incoming and internal patient correspondence is stored on/in the patients medical record and relevant information is coded.
To be able to locate documents as needed by the clinical and non-clinical staff
To carry out administrative related tasks as delegated by the doctors and non- clinical staff and ensure actions required by the clinical team are highlighted.

Action repeat pathology task inbox, making relevant appointments as needed

The applicant should be able cope with working in a hectic environment
