Goods-In Operative

We are looking for an experienced Goods-In Inspector to join a busy warehouse team.

While you will be part of a supportive team, this role involves a significant amount of independent work, taking initiative to ensure all deliveries are accurately processed and stock is correctly recorded and stored.

You will also support production and stores operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and inspect deliveries, checking quantities against paperwork and drawings
  • Book in deliveries using electronic systems and produce store identification labels
  • Promptly rack goods and carry out rolling stocktakes and adjustments
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment
  • Operate forklift trucks and hand pallet trucks as required
Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of stock control and booking-in procedures
  • Competent with measuring equipment (Digital Caliper, Micrometer) and reading drawings
  • Strong numeracy, problem-solving, organisational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Forklift licence (training available for the right candidate)
Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm (40 hours)

Salary & Benefits:
  • £25,500 per year
  • 20 days holiday (rising to 25 after 10 years) + bank holidays and Christmas shutdown
