Global Sanctions Governance Specialist

This senior-level position is part of Binance's Sanctions Compliance team, with a focus on governance, monitoring frameworks, and stakeholder management. You’ll lead the second line of defense efforts for Sanctions and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) risks globally, working across teams, regulators, and jurisdictions.
- Design, implement, and oversee sanctions/CTF monitoring and testing frameworks
- Analyze and evaluate compliance risks related to business activities
- Deliver advisory input to internal stakeholders, especially in high-stakes regulatory matters
- Horizon scan for regulatory changes affecting global compliance strategy
- Lead FCC risk assessments tied to policies, systems, and business expansion
- Represent Binance in interactions with auditors, regulators, industry bodies
- Manage or support strategic projects, ensuring compliance deliverables are on time and high-quality
- Provide thought leadership, share knowledge, and improve team capabilities
- 12+ years of experience in international compliance/FCC
- Minimum of 10 years in sanctions/CTF risk monitoring & testing
- Degree from a recognized university (law, finance, business preferred)
- ACAMS/ACFCS certification preferred (or equivalent)
- Deep knowledge of banking systems, processes, and regulatory expectations
- Strong project leadership, writing, and analytical skills
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement, internal and external
- Ability to explain complex risk concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences
- Must align with Binance’s values and exhibit integrity and initiative
A great fit would be someone who:
- Has hands-on experience designing sanctions governance in a complex financial organization (preferably crypto, fintech, or international banking)
- Can work autonomously while coordinating cross-border compliance teams
- Has successfully led audits, regulatory exams, or cross-functional FCC programs

- Understands blockchain and digital asset risk exposure (a plus)
