Job description

As Global Process Safety Lead you will set and influence the strategic direction of the engineering work across multiple plants and manufacturing sites. You will work closely with Global SHE, Process Safety and Sustainability team, the global TPM team, the BPT Engineering Teams and counsel Plant leadership on trends and developments in area of expertise. This position reports to the Global Director of SHE, Process Safety and Sustainability for BPT. Travel will be required as part of this role up to 30% travel is anticipated. The position will ideally be located at one of the BPT manufacturing facilities.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop and support implementation of the Process Safety (PS) road map for BPT, Drive consistency in technology and processes across the global BPT organization.
  • Integrate the BPT acquisition into Ecolab, aligning to or exceeding Ecolab corporate and regional Process Safety Policies and Standards, developing and supporting gap closure plans, working with leaders to identify process safety priorities.
  • Ensure that leading andging Process Safety metrics are collated. Review metrics, trend analysis and actions with leadership team support. Support the site teams in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Tier 1,2 and high potential Tier 3 Process Safety events and SHE incidents with identification of proactive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Coach and guide the site teams in Management of Change (MOC) Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) to support a sustainable process safety management program.
  • Provide PS input for capital projects throughout the project, particularly at the design stage (PHA- HAZOP), attendance to the Technical Review Board (TRB) and Capital Review Board (CRB) process.
  • Act as a PS subject matter expert, providing PS solutions, and technical support based on standards and Recognized And Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP).
  • Give feedback regarding changes needed for local compliance, communication, or business relevance.
  • Works with leadership to ensure Ecolab Compliance Assessment Process (ECAP) audit findings are managed and support the global ECAP program.
  • Keep informed on all existing and proposed changes in Country specific regulations and legislation and ensures compliance in areas managed with particular focus on safety critical equipment.
  • Develop, implement and execute process safety policies, standards, best practices and procedures as required.
  • Develop relationships with TPM managers and Pillar Leads in various regions supporting the implementation of the SHE and the Preventative and Autonomous Management (PM/AM) pillars.
  • Develop and implement new PS best practice guidance and leverage and share learnings as part of the Global Technical Organization (GTO) Process Safety Horizontal Process Network (HPN).
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical or Mechanical) with 5 years of experience within the chemical industry or similar.
  • Chartered Engineer or Registered Professional Engineer or currently working toward or imminently planning this.
  • Proven experience and ability in production, project or process engineering, administration, and supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in a variety of communication settings (one‑on‑one, small and large groups), across diverse styles and position levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross‑functional teams to a common path forward within a matrix organization.
  • Knowledge of external resources in their area of technical expertise.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage large and/or complex projects through all stages, ability to delegate and hold teams accountable against agreed project parameters.
  • Strong computer literacy, ideally with Power BI technical knowledge.
