Job Title: Geotechnical Site Engineer

Location: Manchester

Salary: £30000 to £35000 per Annum

Permanent Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and technically capable Geotechnical Site Engineer to join a busy ground investigation and environmental consultancy delivering projects across the UK. This role is based in Manchester and offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of infrastructure, commercial, and residential schemes. The position is well suited to a Geotechnical Site Engineer who enjoys site-based responsibility and practical problem solving.

As a Geotechnical Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising and undertaking ground investigations, including drilling, trial pits, and sampling works. Working from Manchester, you will ensure site activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications and industry standards. You will liaise closely with subcontractors, laboratories, and internal project managers to ensure smooth delivery.

The Geotechnical Site Engineer will also be involved in logging soils and rocks, monitoring groundwater, carrying out in situ testing, and collecting high-quality data for reporting. While the role is predominantly site based, you will also contribute to factual reporting and data interpretation, with support from senior staff. Projects will be locally focused around Manchester, with some travel to regional sites as required.
