A local GP practice in Bicester is seeking an enthusiastic GP to cover for a Salaried GP. This fixed-term position offers flexible working options and a competitive pay structure. We are looking for an enthusiastic 6 session GP to joinour innovative training practice in the growing market town of Bicester to cover for one of our Salaried GPs.
We operate a triage system with no Duty days and offer both telephone and F2F appointments.
This is a salaried position. We offer a competitivepay structure, flexible working options, and a Wellness Programme. Operating from a single site, we currentlyhave a patient list of just under 17,000 and are a part-dispensing practice with a team of11 GPs and a total of around 60 staff and AHPs.
We are a forward-thinking practice, fully embracingthe opportunities of multi-professional working with an engaged and motivatedteam of Allied Healthcare Professionals including a clinical pharmacist,pharmacy technician, paramedic, minor illness specialists, physios, specialistnurses, both child and adult mental health workers, and Turning Point drugworkers as well as a PCN resourced Primary Care Visiting Service and frailtyteam.
Bicester is a growing town to the east of Oxford witheasy access to London as well as the beautiful countryside of Oxfordshire andthe Chilterns. The expansion of the townhas included the redevelopment of Bicester Heritage Centre for motoring andflying enthusiasts alongside a micro-brewery and gin distillery, there is a newDavid Lloyd gym and pool close to the surgery, as well as the Bicester Villageshopping centre.
Manage a varied patient list with a range ofhealthcare needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standard of carefor all. The post-holder will beexpected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associatedwith a GP working within primary care following GMC guidelines.
Provide highly effective medical care to patients - toinclude clinical sessions, clinical admin and other duties
Patient consultations telephone, face to face and occasionalhome visits as appropriate
Effective management of long-term conditions
Assess the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Work as a team member with all relevant providers ofprimary and community care services
Generic prescribing adhering to local and nationalguidelines
Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes inaccordance with good practice, practice policy and guidance
Process administration in a timely manner, includingreferrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated tasks
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinicalguidelines and the audit process
Our GPs work 25 appointments per day and we operate a triage system with no Duty days
Lifelong learning and career development are key toour ethos and we offer an educational programme for all clinical staff andleadership training and coaching to all department leads, as well as specialisttraining to our nurses and healthcare assistants. We support GP career progression with GPfellowships and training qualifications.
We are a training practice offering a supportiveenvironment for the next generation of GPs with both GP and Sport and ExerciseMedicine trainees in practice along with medical and nursing studentplacements. We pride ourselves on theexcellent feedback of our trainees - three of our current GP team wereregistrars with us.

Other duties
Support the management team in achieving the strategicaims of the practice
Develop and maintain clinical skills and abilitiesthrough CPD and participate in yearly appraisal to identify further education,training and development needs
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with allstaff and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Participate in the training of GP registrars andmedical, nursing and allied professions student training
Participate in the training of nursing staff and othermembers of the practice clinical team
There are a number of working groups and clinical specialistswithin the practice and whilst contributionto these groups or roles is not a required part of the role, engagement withthe wider practice in this way is encouraged and rewarded.
