A healthcare organization in Bath seeks a General Practice Assistant to support GPs with clinical and administrative tasks. This role involves urinalysis, blood pressure reviews, and various administrative responsibilities. Candidates should have competencies in clinical areas and ideally have completed the ARRS GPA course or be willing to enroll. This blended role promises to enhance your healthcare skills while working alongside a dynamic team of professionals.
A blended clinical and administrative role. Approximately half of working time will be spent in clinic with the remaining time supporting the GPs.
The post holder will have good clinical experience in a range of skills including but not limited to: phlebotomy, blood pressure review, urinalysis, ECG, NHS Healthchecks, INR checks, smoking cessation.
The role will also involve administration duties in support of the GPs: Safeguarding administration support for the lead GPs, bowel screening results, advice letters to patients following test results i.e. QRisk, cervical screening administration, childhood immunisation administration, care home administrative support for lead GP, coordination of the home blood pressure monitoring service.
Newbridge Surgery is a single site practice based in the west of Bath with approx. 9000 patients.
The role will be alongside our nursing team comprised of a Lead Practice Nurse, Practice Nurse, Nurse Associate and HCA and also supporting our 7 GPs with administrative duties.
