Overview

World Class Defence Organisation based in Bolton is recruiting 4x General Operatives with very strong soldering experience for an initial 12 month contract. There are 3 positions on standard days and 1 position on nights. Hourly rate £24.78ph, increasing to £26.12ph after 12 weeks. Overtime (over 37 hours) is paid at the normal rate plus 50%.

Contract Duration: 12 months (initially, with potential for ongoing/long-term employment thereafter).

Responsibilities
  • Carry out detailed standard assembly / manufacturing activities, undertaking all work to requisite procedures, quality standards, safety requirements and timescales.
  • Perform manufacturing and self-certification tasks within the deployed business in accordance with product certification procedures and defined workmanship standards.
  • Contribute to the efficient movement of work and information in the manufacturing area.
  • Adhere to agreed standards and behaviours in all activities, and comply with all health and safety requirements.
  • Read and interpret layouts, follow instructions, and perform fine assembly tasks with precision.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Very strong soldering experience is required.
  • Experience soldering under a microscope or similar microelectronics environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Looming or PCB work would be advantageous.
  • Background in a Production Technician or Assembly Operative role is desirable.
  • IPC 610 certified or trained is preferred.
  • Dexterity for fine work; able to work with minimal supervision; flexible to shift patterns; attention to detail.
  • ESD training is beneficial; PC literacy and Colophony health surveillance are desirable.
