About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Street Lighting Operative to join our team delivering street lighting services across Lincolnshire County. This is a permanent, site-based position located at our Willingham Woods Depot, covering all of Lincolnshire. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the county’s street lighting infrastructure, working both independently and as part of a team. What you'll be doing

Your accountabilities will be as follows:

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining street lighting assets, including columns, lanterns, LED replacements, beacons, lamps, brackets, underground SWA cables, illuminated bollards, illuminated signs, feeder pillars, and subway lights.
  • Working predominantly alone, with occasional team-based tasks.
  • Painting various street furniture.
  • Carrying out ground excavations and reinstatement for installation works.
  • Conducting dynamic risk assessments.
  • Taking responsibility for company property, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Participating in a stand-by rota for out-of-hours call-outs and emergencies.
Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • You have a full, clean UK driving licence.
  • You are competent in street lighting operations, with knowledge of fault-finding, repairs, and general maintenance.
  • You’re comfortable using basic IT (a tablet device will be provided for site works).
  • You’re willing to undertake training to achieve required competencies, including HEA Portfolio, First Aid, Manual Handling, ECS test, CSC/NPORS red card, NRSWA, IPAF 1b + Harness & Fall Arrest, G39 + 214 Safe Isolation, ESSW, 302.1 (12D) Traffic Management, 204.1 Abrasive Wheels, and an understanding of Sign Lighting & Guarding.
  • An electrical testing qualification or experience would be beneficial.
