Job Title: General Manager (Operations)
We are a dynamic, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial company with a strong commitment to quality and efficiency. Our facility is extensive and includes multiple departments, including production, cold storage, maintenance, and R&D. As we continue to expand and innovate, we are looking for an experienced General Manager (Operations) to lead and optimize our operations.
Role Overview
As the General Manager (Operations), you will have full oversight of the entire site, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all departments. You’ll lead a diverse team, drive operational improvements, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role, where your presence on the shop floor will be crucial to understanding and refining day-to-day processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Take ownership of the day-to-day operations across multiple departments (production, maintenance, cold storage, and office functions).
- Team Management: Lead, develop, and hold your team accountable, fostering a high-performance culture across all levels.
- Efficiency & Growth: Identify and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency, reduce waste, and drive volume growth.
- Site Oversight: Manage and maintain a large, complex site (10 acres), ensuring that all areas operate smoothly and are aligned with the company\'s goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, helping the company stay agile, competitive, and innovative.
- Coordination & Communication: Work closely with department heads and the ownership team to ensure alignment across departments and drive organizational efficiency.
- Hands-On Leadership: Be actively involved on the shop floor, providing guidance and support to your teams, while remaining focused on the broader strategic goals.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Leadership: At least 5+ years of senior operational experience in a manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or related field. Food/FMCG experience is a plus but not essential.
- People-Centric: Strong people management skills, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams across multiple departments.
- Operational Excellence: A deep understanding of production processes and the ability to drive efficiencies, improve systems, and scale operations.
- Hands-On & Practical: Comfortable being on the floor, observing operations, and stepping in to solve problems when needed.
- Cultural Fit: A down-to-earth, no-nonsense approach suited to an entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment. Adaptability and a strong sense of common sense are key.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff, including senior leadership.
- Commitment: This is an on-site role, requiring full-time presence at our facility.
