Description: The Gym Manager position is a high-profile leadership position that is responsible for the gym's overall direction, coordination, operation, and success.
Responsibilities
- Exceed financial goals while providing leadership in customer service, sales, in-gym business performance, and member retention.
- Provide daily support to a team of staff with ongoing leadership, motivation, and development; cast, coach, communicate, align, and hold staff accountable to gym expectations.
- Act as the club ambassador to deliver an unforgettable member experience.
- Manage membership acquisition and retention, revenue and expenses on a daily basis.
- Manage financial budgets with planning, forecasting, and revenue generation from various club needs; review monthly reports for club revenue reconciliation and non-revenue.
- Calculate rotas for payroll on a monthly basis.
- Foster member and team member relations by greeting members, cultivating relationships, and promoting an engaging and welcoming environment.
- Manage a team of personal trainers and staff; provide exceptional customer service by addressing members\' suggestions and concerns.
- Perform daily club walkthroughs to ensure areas are clean, tidy, and safe.
- Maintain a positive attitude and ensure staff deliver the highest level of customer service, cleanliness, and performance at all times.
- Authorize employee status changes, new hires, and terminations; develop appropriate succession plans; attend weekly calls and monthly live meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven and successful management experience within the leisure industry with a focus on fitness operations.
- REPS Level Three Personal Trainer qualification; 3+ years\' experience in fitness, leisure hospitality, or retail industries.
- Experience providing customer service and handling customer concerns.
- Sales or fitness management experience highly preferred.
- Track record of success in a performance-driven work and sales culture.
- Experience overseeing gym events and promotions that drive revenue and contribution performance.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: interviewing and hiring department managers and frontline team members; excellent supervisory, interpersonal communication, and time management skills; decision making, problem solving, strategic planning, data analysis, and proven conflict management skills; knowledge of standard office procedures and computer software; excellent customer service skills; ability to build relationships with members; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task with tight deadlines; ability to define problems, collect and analyse data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and recommend solutions; ability to build teams; ability to make decisions quickly; knowledge and passion for the health and fitness industry; knowledge of profit and loss statements.
