Job summary

A leading catering provider in the UK is seeking a General Assistant to assist in food preparation and ensure excellent service during mealtimes. The ideal candidate will be organized, customer-focused, and possess experience in education catering. This full-time role requires strong attention to detail and a flexible attitude. As a General Assistant you will

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner according to established menus and recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front‑of‑house areas including organising dishes and utensils.
  • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service procedures, safety protocols and customer service standards.
