Overview

Location: Regional Office (Full-time, Office-Based)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GE and SM Scheduler to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the effective scheduling of staff, resource management, and ensuring smooth operational processes. If you’re a self-driven individual with strong organizational skills and a passion for delivering outstanding service, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Scheduling & Resource Management
    • Safely and effectively schedule staff (both direct and contractors) within the region.
    • Achieve full utilization of resources and regularly update scheduling tools or any new systems implemented.
  • Work Management Tools
    • Operate work management systems (MRS, GPS, SAP) to assist with issuing and completing work.
    • Raise and process purchase orders using SAP, including the generation of management reports.
  • Communication & Liaison
    • Provide regular feedback to Field Engineers and Field Staff Supervisors.
    • Resolve telephone queries from internal and external customers.
    • Collaborate with other Directorates for seamless operations across the Regional Office.
    • Support the investigation of customer complaints.
    • Maintain records for Electricity Guaranteed Standards.
  • Compliance & Administrative Tasks
    • Liaise with contractors to ensure compliance with Section 74 of the New Roads and Street Works Act.
    • Raise and request Street Works Notices and Permits as needed.
    • Record and manage annual leave and other absences for field staff.
    • Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team.
  • Emergency Support
    • Be available to carry out storm role duties during emergencies.

    • Effectively schedule staff to minimize overtime expenditure.
  • Customer Focus
    • Ensure timely updates to customers and field staff to provide accurate job progress.
    • Adhere to Electricity Guaranteed Standards and ensure proper recording.
    • Minimize customer complaints by effectively managing resources and scheduling.
  • Process
    • Maintain up-to-date scheduling systems to ensure visibility of all staff.
    • Raise purchase orders in a timely manner.
    • Monitor workloads and time management effectively.
  • People
    • Actively participate in performance reviews and monthly team briefings.
    • Manage absence and sickness days efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Basic understanding of the network and types of jobs undertaken (advantageous).

  • Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 (formerly 2322) certificate in Electrical Technology Engineering.
