Overview

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Architecture team as a Functional Architect.

Working as a Functional Architect, you'll capture defined processes, functions and feature requirements based upon business ideas and requirements to contribute to the IT strategy. You'll provide the technical impact analysis to ensure that IT solutions comply with standardised AXA frameworks.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing
  • Gathering business requirements including objectives, required features and functionality within the plan phase
  • Classifying requirements, functions and features that are a must have, important and nice to have that drives the improvement of the user experience
  • Delivering business and high-level IT impact analysis to ensure all implications are considered in decision-making
  • Providing options and assessment for different routes to market
  • Contributing to the development of the business case
  • Developing process and requirements analysis to ensure alignment to target enterprise architecture
  • Monitoring the delivery of business requirements across the lifecycle, contributing to post-implementation reviews to ensure that mandatory features have been delivered
  • Contributing to prioritisation and development of IT plan and budget
What you'll bring
  • Previous Senior Business Analysis or Business Architecture experience of which a significant level of experience has been attained in IT strategy/architecture in a large commercial organisation
  • Commercial/business knowledge to understand and integrate business and IT strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation and influencing skills - credible at senior management level
  • Ability to document business requirements into technical speak
  • Understanding of systems life cycles, methodologies and system integration
  • Track record of collaboration and re-use of solutions in global organisations
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload
  • TOGAF Certified or equivalent desired
  • As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
