Job description

Overview

This role involves a variety of early morning, evening and weekend shifts, including Bank Holidays, Easter and Christmas. Therefore, having your own transport is preferable as public transport will be unavailable on some shift patterns.

Location: Boutport Street, Barnstaple EX31 1LE

Salary: up to £12.21 per hour

Hotel: The Royal and Fortescue Hotel

Hours per week: 35-40

As a Kitchen Porter you will assist the Kitchen team in the running and efficiency of the kitchen by ensuring the cleanliness of work stations and equipment throughout the kitchen environment. What will I be doing?

• Adhere to the cleaning schedule, cleaning floors and walls regularly and efficiently.
• Responsible for the cleaning and drying of crockery, cutlery, trays, sinks, food mixers, fridges, freezers, posts, pans, grills, fryers, stoves, extractor hoods and worktops.
• Ensure machines are in good working order, reporting issues as soon as they arise.
• Ensure deliveries are stored in the correct locations whilst in a timely manner.
• Dispose of food waste in the correct manner.
• Understand and comply with company policy on HASAWA, fire precautions, legal requirements, and perform any other tasks that may be required from time to time.
• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.
