Qualifications

  • Approximately 4-7 years’ post-qualification experience, gained in-house and/or at a top-tier law firm.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions and projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ideally, experience with Investment Management Agreements and regulatory regimes such as MiFID II, AIFMD, and UCITS.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting, negotiating, and advising on distribution, investment management, and related agreements.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to stakeholders, delivering clear and commercially relevant legal advice.
  • Leading legal input into strategic projects, regulatory developments, and business initiatives.
  • Enhancing internal processes, including the development of templates, playbooks, and best practices.

About your team The Investment Solutions and Services (ISS) business is central to our investment proposition, serving professional clients and financial institutions. The ISS Legal team works in close partnership with the business, delivering pragmatic and commercially focused advice across a broad spectrum of legal, regulatory, and conduct matters. Our remit includes drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements fundamental to the firm\'s operations - from cross-border fund distribution agreements with global banks, to Investment Management Agreements with institutional investors, to service agreements with brokers and custodians. We also play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives such as Sustainable Finance, evolving distribution models, and other business-critical projects. About your role We are seeking a commercially minded lawyer (circa 4-7 years\' PQE) to support our distribution and institutional businesses. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating distribution and investment management and advisory agreements, while navigating the regulatory landscape across the UK and Europe. The role requires close collaboration with both the legal function and business stakeholders, providing proactive, solutions-oriented support across a wide range of matters.

  • L awyers in our team are expected to be business-facing, pragmatic, and collaborative - enabling the business to grow while protecting the firm from legal, financial, and reputational risk. This role requires confidence, adaptability, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team.
Qualifications
  • Solicitor / lawyer qualified in England and Wales, Scotland or in a jurisdiction in the European Union with approximately 4-7 years\' post-qualification experience, gained in-house and/or at a top-tier law firm
  • Strong drafting skills and excellent written and spoken English
  • Solid grounding in corporate and commercial law, with demonstrable knowledge of UK/European mutual fund products
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions and projects with minimal supervision
  • Commercial, proactive, and solutions-driven mindset, with strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ideally, experience with Investment Management Agreements, Investment Advisory Agreements and regulatory regimes such as MiFID II, AIFMD, and UCITS
