Overview

As a certified nurse or paramedic, you can pursue a career within the criminal justice system, aiding some of society's most vulnerable individuals. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality healthcare to detainees in custody suites in collaboration with the Police.
  • Work under pressure and manage diverse clinical situations effectively.
  • Maintain shift patterns: 06:45–19:00 day shifts, 18:45–07:00 night shifts; part‑time rota pattern of 2‑day shifts on, 8 days, 2 nights, 4 days off.
  • Work across an assigned region in the Police Custody Suites and Force area.
  • Carry out some night shifts if employed part‑time.
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary £20,500 per year.
  • £500 bonus after completing 12 months of service.
  • Average estimated overtime £3,500 per annum.
  • Rolling rota available 2 years in advance.
  • Part‑time employees required to work full shifts; part‑time employees may have mutually agreed "Bank" contract.
  • NMC/HCPC Registration paid.
Requirements
  • RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration): 2 years post qualification – Band 5 minimum.
  • Paramedic: 2 years post qualification.
  • Must have a driving license.
  • Must have RTW in UK, lived in UK British passport or ILR for 3 years + no gaps out of country more than 3 months.
  • All candidates will be subject to Police Vetting.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years’ post‑qualification experience in a patient‑facing role within a relevant clinical setting (Accident & Emergency, General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, Ambulance Service).
  • Experience demonstrating the ability to deliver high‑quality care, work under pressure, and manage diverse clinical situations effectively.
