About the National Trust

Position

We’re looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you’d be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

This location is in a rural area, so please think about how you’d get here for work, before applying for the job.

Contract
  • Type: zero‑hour contract, no guaranteed set hours each week. Flexibility required; schedules may change based on business needs. Role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evenings or split shifts.
  • Duration: fixed term until 30‑Oct‑2026.
  • Working pattern: typical shifts 7.5 hr, between 09:00‑17:30, including weekends. Property closed Dec‑Feb.
  • Salary: £12.25 per hour.

What you’ll be doing

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You’ll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With your love of working with people, your ‘can‑do’ attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you’ll be ensuring everyone has an enjoyable time.

This is a lively business that’s constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.

You’ll be keen to understand what people want, help them, and make recommendations. Keep standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Use your eye for detail to ensure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food.

We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, training in allergens and food safety, and any mentoring needed. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
