Job description
Overview

HMP Northumberland are currently recruiting an experienced Facilities Management Technical Services Manager.

In this role, you'll ensure safe working practices are implemented and take corrective actions where required. With a dynamic and flexible approach to the delivery of objectives, you'll work alongside the Deputy Head of FM to ensure the smooth running of the prison and to deliver all agreed statutory compliance, planned preventive maintenance, lifecycle, capital expenditure and FM-led business projects on time, to budget and to the agreed quality standards in accordance with Sodexo Justice Services and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Support the HMP Head of Facilities Management in ensuring that the Prison is kept in good structural and decorative order.
  • Ensure external areas are safe and presentable.
  • Ensure all works and maintenance activities comply with current statutory legislation and Codes of Practice; keep the Prison site and its buildings secure, effective, and fit for use.
  • Maintain compliance with ISOQAR 9001 and 14001 for Facilities Maintenance and Environmental Assurance.
  • Maintain a sound system of internal control for Facilities Management annual OPEX and lifecycle budgets, ensuring efficient and effective management of delegated financial resources.
  • Manage people and services in a Total Facilities Management technical environment.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of Building statutory Compliance around Management of Legionella, Fire safety, and PUER.
  • Be trained in Health and Safety to IOSH Level II and have extensive knowledge of method statements, risk assessments, safe systems of work, building, electrical and mechanical regulations.
  • Have IT literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to grasp and use BMS, CAFM (Maximo) and other in-house software following internal training.
  • Show people management skills and the ability to communicate at all levels with excellent communication.
  • Possess strong knowledge of industrial/commercial electrical repairs on HVAC, AHU, controls and BMS systems (an advantage).
  • Previous experience working in a 24/7 operational environment (e.g., hospitals, universities, prisons) is an advantage.
