Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for an FLT Driver & Warehouse Chemical Operator in Leyland. The role involves ensuring the safe and efficient handling of warehouse materials, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures, and maintaining stock accuracy. Candidates must possess a valid FLT licence and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills. This position offers a pay rate of £13.00 per hour, supplemented by an additional shift allowance, with flexible working hours transitioning to nights after training.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Bendi / Flexi / Pivot FLT Licence.
  • Able to work well in a team and follow procedures accurately.
  • Strong communication and numeracy skills are essential.

FLT Driver & Warehouse Chemical Operator

£13.00 per hour + 50p per hour shift allowance

Shift

10pm - 6am (initially 2pm - 10pm until full training is completed, then transitioning to nights)

Job purpose

Ensures the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to support business operations and customer demand.

Duties / key responsibilities
  • Ensure dock levellers and FLTs are checked daily, recorded on relevant sheets, and any defects reported.
  • Work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in line with company policy.
  • Assist with unloading inbound delivery vehicles by hand or using a forklift truck, reporting any damaged stock or missing items.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and repacking of all products in line with stock locations and rotation.
  • Ensure all lifting and manoeuvring of products is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
  • Move and store products in the correct warehouse areas/locations.
  • Pick and pack orders for dispatch as per customer requirements.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production standards.
  • Input data and maintain accurate records of stock and inventory.
  • Carry out stock counts as required.
  • Handle hazardous materials in an appropriate and compliant manner.
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy to a high standard to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Operate safely at all times, complying with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Make recommendations to improve efficiency and add value to warehouse operations.
