Job description

Are you a skilled floor layer seeking a stable, long-term contract with consistent work? We are looking for dedicated professionals to join our team, working on the refurbishment and refitting of local authority housing properties across the Leeds area.

The Role

You will be responsible for the high‑quality installation and finishing of various floor coverings in occupied and void domestic properties.

• High‑quality installation and finishing of floor coverings such as vinyl, LVT, carpet and laminate.
• Preparation and fitting of floor coverings, including sub‑floor preparation, screeding, levelling compounds and ensuring surfaces are clean and ready for laying.
• Taking precise measurements and efficiently cutting materials to minimise waste.
• Maintaining a professional and courteous manner when working in tenant‑occupied properties.
• Adhering to all health, safety, and quality standards set by the contract and local authority.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a floor layer, specifically working with a range of domestic flooring materials.
• NVQ or relevant qualification (desirable, but demonstrated experience is essential).
• Own high‑quality tools and reliable transport to move between sites (essential).
• Highly reliable, excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• CSCS card.
• Asbestos awareness.
