A youth mental health support organization is looking for a Floating Mental Health Waking Night Support Worker to assist young people in their development. Responsibilities include providing support during night shifts, assisting with education, medication administration, and maintaining a nurturing environment. Care in Mind provide residential services for young people aged 16-30 years old. The young people we care for often require a high level of support to assist with difficulties they may have from self-harming, behaviour, and emotional difficulties. Our aim is to support the young people using a therapeutic approach to help them achieve their individual goals, in preparation for transition to adult life.
At Care in Mind our homes are always a hub of activity and energy where the young people can feel safe, and our staff enjoy coming to work. Your role will involve working with our young people to promote independence through support with education, household tasks and general life skills. You will also update online care records and complete medication administration. In addition, you will be responsible for the general upkeep and tidiness of the home ensuring the young people live in homely environment.
You will undertake a wide range of duties, which will involve direct and indirect care of young people who have complex mental health needs within the Care in Mind residential homes and various other settings e.g. college/leisure activities.
You will conduct multiple interventions involving the delivery of care to young people and to promote their independence ensuring continuity of care in accordance with Care in Mind policies and procedures.
The role of a floating waking night support worker, is to work across the Care in Mind portfolio of services covering Bury, Bolton and Preston in Lancashire. Therefore you must have a Full UK driving licence with access to a car.
Previous care experience is desirable but full training will be provided. You will receive ongoing support and mentoring from our friendly residential and clinical team.
