Job description

Due to departmental growth, a vacancy has arisen for an experienced time served HGV Trailer technician to join our ranks. This is a full-time position as a Trailer technician at PD Ports within the Fleet Department. Working Arrangements: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:30am - 15:30pm. Overtime available.

Responsibilities
  • Complete planned 8-weekly inspections.
  • Apply proven trailer technician expertise to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out to the highest standards.
  • Carry out on-site repairs as required.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of pneumatics and electrics and work effectively both independently and in a team.
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Respond to operational needs at short notice in all weather conditions with a flexible approach.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and take pride in workmanship.
  • Proactively identify potential faults and implement solutions.
Qualifications
  • Holds a recognised qualification in HGV/trailer maintenance or equivalent experience.
