Firmware Engineer - Electronics Hardware Integration - Defence - Cambridge

We have an important Firmware Engineer role for a growing Defence Sector organisation, aimed at contributing to the development of new technologies that will enhance the defence of the UK and other allied nations, with a focus on defensive technologies rather than offensive.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies in the defence sector with a focus on defensive technologies.
  • Leverage firmware engineering experience together with knowledge of electronics hardware integration to deliver projects.
  • Work on advancing new technologies, pushing boundaries, and delivering devices that have not been previously created.
  • Collaborate within a flat structure where peers help develop knowledge as you contribute to theirs.
  • Engage with projects that may require security clearance due to the nature of the defence sector.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Degree in software or electronics field that led to a Firmware Engineer career.
  • Experience in firmware engineering and electronics hardware integration; a proven track record of completing complex projects resulting in launched devices is preferred.
  • Prior defence sector experience is ideal, but candidates from other complex fields will be considered.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance.
