Job description

Our client based close to Heathrow are looking to add an experienced Fine Art/Antique/Furniture Packer to their expanding operation.

Monday to Friday 08.00 - 17.00

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Professional handling, packing and crating of sensitive and valuable antiques, furniture, sculptures and fine art.
• Packing and crating for local, domestic and international transport.
• Professionally and efficiently wrap, load, span, tie in artworks within a truck/container to keep them safe and stable during transport.
• Inspecting artworks to determine how, where, when, or if, to touch them and how to pack for transport.
• Visit client premises to conduct site surveys, to ascertain access, best practices et cetera.
• Expertly installing artworks, sculptures and high end furniture.
• Efficiently handling paperwork including bills of lading, labeling, timesheets and detailed condition reports with photos.
• Communicating with operations team throughout the day.
• Thorough understanding and use of proper packing materials for all surfaces.

Key Attributes

• Thorough understanding and a previous experience with industry standards for handling, packing, transporting and installing high end furniture, art and antiques.
• Ability to efficiently wrap/pack sensitive and valuable furniture, works of art and antiques.
• Be physically fit and have the ability to work comfortably on ladders, scaffolding or mechanized lifts.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Familiar with art terminology.
