ABOUT THE POSITION

Spreadex’s Financial Trading Team are looking to recruit an undergraduate for an Industrial Placement. This program is aimed at students who are completing a four-year degree with a year out in industry as part of their course. This 13 month Internship based in our St Albans office will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work within a retail broker, gaining exposure to a range of products from single stock equities, FX, index futures and commodities.

The placement will support the Financial Trading Team through assisting with the quantification of our risk book exposures, producing reports on trading performance and performing critical administration tasks of the desk. During this placement, you will learn relationship management, trading analysis, trade execution and how to network internally and externally.

The Financial Trading Team at Spreadex is the focal point for the Financials business of the firm. We manage a vast array of financial products and the financial trading flow. We adhere to high standards in a professional fast-paced environment with an open and friendly culture.

ABOUT YOU

• You are a student studying for a four-year degree with an industrial placement year incorporated as part of your syllabus.
• Currently studying a degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, business management, mathematics etc.
• You have a passion and interest in financial markets, specifically with financial derivative products.
• You possess high standards, excellent attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• You have a quantitative mindset when solving problems.

The office is based in St Albans, Hertfordshire with a fast and simple commute from London: 20 minutes from London St Pancras/Kings Cross by direct train; regular services also run from Farringdon, City Thameslink and Blackfriars; easy access from the M1, A1(M) and M25.
