Role Summary
The Associate Director role plays a key role in the continual development of our existing relationships with clients and in developing new accounts to expand the operational resilience and risk practice. Associate Directors are expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the operational resilience domain and maintain and develop business relationships to expand the client portfolio. Associate Directors are responsible for the success of all client-related work within their portfolio and manage the success of these engagements and must be able to clearly articulate the value drivers of our business.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for identifying growth opportunities and driving business growth for engagements across the focus areas in operational resilience and risk.
- Leading business development activities such as identifying building and actively managing business relationships to achieve robust and sustainable growth.
- Working closely with our business development team in a technical capacity to develop proposals and respond to client requirements.
- Assume the lead role in the execution of operational resilience and / or risk engagements.
- Managing individuals within the delivery team both Protiviti and client resources to ensure the successful delivery of our engagements.
- Working closely with the client teams to ensure that their needs are understood and their stated requirements are met through the delivery of the engagement.
- Contributing to the internal fabric of Protiviti by ensuring that thought leadership best practices and other materials are developed; understanding global / regional initiatives being driven by other Protiviti offices; and developing relevant use cases and sales propositions that can be used to help other clients.
- Assist with the development of engagement methodology and procedures some of which will be generic and others more specific including aspects of regulatory requirements and supervision operational risk frameworks and assessments governance issues including enterprise risk management and subject matter internal audit reviews.
- Liaise with other offices globally to leverage existing contacts and provide a considered and consistent approach to the market.
- Participate in recruiting efforts to support Protiviti business objectives.
- Enhance technical and operational knowledge through coaching from team and industry specific training / seminars / forums. Ensure this knowledge is shared with team members.
- Follow Quality Risk Management standards and mitigate high-risk engagement issues to ensure client satisfaction.
- Set a climate for high performance and encourage collaboration across Solutions and Globally to ensure effective execution.
- Understand existing perspectives and challenge current thinking by encouraging innovation on all engagements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead manage and develop teams and deliver operational resilience and risk engagements to a range of clients across the financial services sector.
- Demonstrated ability in business development and managing a portfolio of clients. Ability to play a lead role in developing content to support the business development efforts across the focus areas in operational resilience and risk.
- Experience in creation and contribution towards proposals and bid materials.
- Strong demonstrated capability in the build implementation and / or assurance of operational resilience frameworks to meet global regulatory requirements and business objectives including Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the UK operational resilience regime.
- Experience in third party risk management would also be an advantage.
- Experience developing risk-based frameworks policies procedures and checklists that promote best practice above minimum regulatory standards and ability to lead regulatory impact assessments.
- Contributed to the design and implementation of target operating models for an effective Compliance function or regulation-impacted process.
- Strong track record of employee development through mentoring creating development opportunities providing regular constructive feedback and initiating and conducting training.
- Independent self-starter with capability to operate autonomously when needed.
- Recognised knowledge and experience of one or more segments of the Financial Services Market.

Employment Type: Full-Time
Starting salaries are competitive and are based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the salary range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location.
