Role Details

Financial Controller

Role: Full-time Permanent

Location: Stockley Park London

The Role

We’re seeking a proactive and meticulous Financial Controller to join our Group Reporting & Analysis function. The role will oversee statutory reporting internal controls accounting operations and management accounting to ensure the accuracy integrity and timelines of our financial and management reporting. The role also supports strategic decision making and maintains compliance with company and industry requirements.

From a Financial Reporting perspective you’ll lead the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements statutory reporting and corporation tax computations ensuring timely submission for compliance reports (e.g. VAT returns PSA P11D) managing internal and external audit processes and acting as the main point of contact for relevant authority queries. You’ll also ensure compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory standards (e.g. IFRS UK GAAP).

From the Accounting side you’ll plan and lead the production of our annual accounts and associated schedules for all statutory and tax returns supervising our day-to-day accounting activities (general ledger accounts payable accounts receivable fixed assets) and ensuring timely efficient and accurate month end close processes across all entities. You’ll also work closely with our tax advisors and internal and external audit functions.

To support the smooth running of the business you’ll develop and maintain robust internal control frameworks across the entity and group monitoring compliance against financial policies procedures and SOPs (global and local) and identify potential financial risks through proactive controls and governance. Managing your team you’ll develop coach and performance manage them to ensure a high performing financial control function and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

The Person
  • Experience in a similar senior level Finance role ideally in a multinational manufacturing organisation with a comprehensive understanding of Financial Control and Accounting processes and compliance requirements.
  • Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS requirements.
  • Good IT skills (including Microsoft Office) with strong Excel abilities and SAP BPC experience.
  • Strong organisation skills able to manage multiple activities to deadline and maintain a good eye for detail even in a busy and changeable work environment.
  • Experience managing mentoring and developing high performing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) able to liaise with people at all levels of authority navigate cultural differences and build effective working relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with an analytical mindset strong commercial acumen and problem-solving ability; acts with integrity accountability and resilience.
  • Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA CGMA ACCA).
